       Cirrhilabrus africanus

We are proud to have provided specimens for the description of two new species of Cirrhilabrus fairy wrasses by Dr. Benjamin Victor. The paper was published today and can be seen here.

    Pseudojuloides edwardi

    Pseudojuloides edwardi

An exciting first for us, discovering an entirely unknown species in a shipment from Kenya.

    Pseudojuloides labyrinthus

    Pseudojuloides labyrinthus

This was discovered through DNA analysis of what we thought were females of P. edwardi above. It took nearly two years to finally find this truly gorgeous male.

         Pseudojuloides zeus

Although this undescribed species had been know about for many years after being discovered on a deep dive in Palau, we were the first to bring in a living specimen to the USA, thus enabling it's formal description (with an exceptionally cool name!).
